Stride and Stretch was founded in 2014 to inspire people to get outdoors, connect with nature and practice yoga. Stride and Stretch provides experiences to assist with that process. Nature does most of the work, but with a little help from our instructors, Stride and Stretch has become a phenomenon in the Guelph, Ontario area enabling people to connect with a community of like-minded people.
Hiking for cardio and strength and yoga for power and grace. What's more, it's a form of holistic multitasking that allows you to savor nature as you deepen your yoga practice , it is also a great way to avoid injury, by strengthening and stretching muscles and tendons.
The idea is to draw upon the inspiration and beauty of nature to help others find their Prana (vital life source).
There are so many amazing trails in and around Guelph, including our proximity to the Bruce Trail (Canada's oldest and longest marked footpath, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve).
Our weekly urban hikes are an active, fun and social way to have a cardio-based yoga experience while exploring the local trails in and around Guelph. Since 2015, Stride and Stretch has hosted more than 500 hikes and events throughout Ontario.
Stride and Stretch isn't only about hiking, you will also find us backpacking, cycling, camping, or paddling.
